    Job Openings in IITA... Nursery Teacher NeededInternational Institute of Tropical Agriculture, looking to recruit suitable qualified candidate for the position of Nursery Teacher at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.
    Vacancy – Nursery Teacher (2-year renewable contract)
    Responsibilities:
    Be responsible for the education and welfare of the Nursery pupils.
    Plan and prepare courses and lessons following the programmed in place.
    Work with the Playgroup, Pre-Kindergarten Teachers to develop, introduce and incorporate Montessori teaching
    Assess, record and report on the progress of the pupils
    Maintain a well-ordered teaching area.
    Responsibility for and participating in two afternoon clubs
    Follow the timetable as agreed with the Head.
    All further requirements of a class teacher are laid down in the ‘Class Teacher’s Professional Duties’ report.
    And any other duties as may be assigned by the Head
    Qualification / Experience:
    B.Ed/BSc Education.
    Minimum of five (5) years’ teaching experience.
    The ideal candidate must possess among others:
    Excellent English reporting, writing and oral communication skills
    Be committed to and promote academic excellence.
    Ready to provide in-service training as required by Head.
    Strong ability to co-ordinate, priorities and organize workload; take initiative and work under pressure

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the following position at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.

Qualification and Experience

 
 TEACHER

2-year renewable contract
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following:
  • Be responsible for the education and welfare of Grade 4 pupils
  • Plan and prepare courses and lessons following the programmes in place
  • Assess, record and report on the progress of the pupils
  • Maintain a well-ordered teaching area
  • Responsible for and participate in two afternoon clubs
  • Follow the timetable as agreed with the Head
  • Implement other requirements of a Class Teacher as laid down in the ‘Class Teacher’s Professional Duties’ report
  • Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Head
B.Ed or First degree in a related discipline plus Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Candidate must have minimum of three years teaching experience.
He/She must be child-centred and experienced in enquiry-based teaching approach.
Possession of musical and artistic skills is desirable.
Ability to teach French is added advantage.
